4 Quick Apply Full-time 7 hours ago Full Job Description The purpose of this position is to develop the untapped talents of our friends living at the Center of Family Love.
The Director of Programs develops, supports and manages Programs activities and staff in their on-going efforts to stimulate skills development and positive engagement for individuals with different abilities by using a person centered, strength-based approach.
The Director of Programs is accountable for the success of our residents and our Programs, through cultivating strong partnerships; through qualitative and quantitative data; through resource and asset management; through leadership, strategy and training; and by providing opportunities for inclusion, visibility, purpose, and investment in self.
Qualifications:
A.
Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree (B.
A.
) from a four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer a degree in Human Services, Psychology, Special Education or a related field with 2 to 5 years comparable work experience.
Prior supervisory experience is desired.
Incumbents must be willing to pursue on-going professional development opportunities to further enhance their knowledge of specific disabilities and teaching techniques.
B.
Skills and Abilities - Incumbents should have a basic understanding of Programs such as the Ceramics, STEM, Culinary Arts, product development, ect.
, or willingness to learn.
Incumbents must possess personal characteristics such as patience, tolerance, and a passion to learn more about specific disabilities and adapt expectations.
Incumbents must have a strong sense of serving and caring for the needs of adults with functional disabilities.
In addition, incumbents must possess basic written and verbal language skills and be familiar with basic computer operations and email procedures.

Reasoning Ability - Incumbent must have the ability to provide direction to both staff and residents, including individuals who are non-speaking.
Incumbent should possess effective problem-solving skills in a face paced environment.
Incumbent must be able to make decisions and delegate while maintaining control of a group situation.
Responsibilities:
1.
Supervises the on-going training of the Program's staff, QIDPs, and Direct Care Staff in methods that further stimulate each heroes program and seeks ways to extend or enhance their skills to accomplish this goal.
2.
Develop and approve various curriculum with a goal to stimulate individual and group results; uses adaptive teaching methods and creative approaches, such as specialized techniques and equipment, to accomplish overall objectives.
3.
Coordinates with the Programs staff to identify and resolve issues which may affect Programs such as staffing levels and financial resources.
Maintains standards of quality and structure for performance and production goals.
4.
Coordinates with Programs to maintain an adequate inventory of materials and supplies to assure continuous production and avoid interruption in meeting objectives.
5.
Manages heroes' behavior interventions in collaboration with QIDPs in orderly and productive work environment; communicates a positive rather than punitive approach when dealing with behavioral issues.
6.
Records and communicates medical or behavioral issues with QIDPs in a timely manner.
7.
Reports to the nursing staff or on-call contact any complaints made by heroes of pain or exhibition of unusual behavior.
If trained, administers medications to heroes as needed.
8.
Completes weekly reporting requirements that include attendance records; incident reports, psych reports, progress of hero reports, Time Studies or other administrative documentation.
9.
Works safely and looks out for the safety of fellow staff and heroes.
Strictly follows all safety practices and procedures; reports any unsafe conditions or actions to their teacher or supervisor.
10.
Complies with the Center of Family Love attendance policy.
11.
Maintains neat appearance, good personal hygiene and appropriate attire.
12.
Participates in training, in-services, and meetings as required.
13.
Other duties and responsibilities as directed.
14.
Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Center of Family Love's values of teamwork, respect, integrity, compassion and kindness.
